Mike Bannon St Catharines, ON Date: 08/27/14 19:31 Re: Orange over Orange Author: DJ-12 Wow, excellent! Perfectly lit and IOTD material for sure. Is 26R the new train that is running Toledo-Buffalo?

The majority of the train was UPS trailers, only 26 platforms if I recall correctly. Rob Smith Hamilton, ON Date: 08/28/14 05:30 Re: Orange over Orange Author: toledopatch Yes, 26R and its opposite, 27R, are the new Toledo-Buffalo intermodals handling the "short" business formerly moved on 206/205. They run Tuesday-Friday. I'm guessing this 26R left Toledo a bit earlier than its carded 0830 departure time.
Nice shot, too. I've done the over-under thing at Conneaut but never with the Bessemer train so well spotted. Date: 08/28/14 06:31 Re: Orange over Orange Author: erie833 Agree with all the above, this was a nice catch and a well composed photo.

Your chances of getting this kind of positioning are likely better than they have been for a while. With the coal traffic being handled this summer, it seems like they are often filling out ore trains with empty coal gons/hoppers on the rear. This is making for some longer than normal trains...for example, I shot a B&LE train leaving Conneaut on Saturday that was 109 cars. Roughly 2/3 was ore and the balance was empty hoppers. He was almost down to the road crossing for his air test after he did his multiple doubles. Unfortunately, NS didn't cooperate with a train in that window :-( Date: 08/28/14 07:38 Re: Orange over Orange Author: DundasMP23 PittsburghMike Wrote:

We heard mention of 100 cars on the radio, however they had 113 cars leaving Conneaut with the empty coal hoppers tacked on the end.
