Eastern Railroad Discussion > good morning St LouisDate: 10/28/14 07:06 good morning St Louis Author: stlrailfan List,
two glorious fall mornings in a row I was able to get what IMHO is the signature shot from around my hometown of St Louis. The Tudor Ave overpass in East St Louis, IL, its a highway on ramp to interstate 70/64 and requires precise timing so you don't have to sit on the bridge two long. Enjoy the images and have a great rest of the week. Mark Mautner Maryland Heights, MO 1. Amtrak train # 22 the northbound Texas Eagle with heritage motor # 66 leading is seen at 810am crossing TRRA's Macarthur bridge having made a on time departure from St Louis. East St Louis, IL Oct 26th 2014 2. After a failed attempt at shooting the NS/PRR # 8102 leading a UP autorack train solo into Alton & Southern ( train arrived before sunrise ) I was monitoring the scanner and heard this TRRA 301 transfer call a signal at west approach on the Missouri side of the Mississippi. Five minutes later I was rewarded with four TRRA motors leading a monster transfer from BNSF Lindenwood yard. Pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training in about 15 weeks, but for now, go Royals! Pump in KC P.S. Why the hell couldn't that job show up in the morning when I was there a month ago? We loved our visit to the Arch in August this year, wish we had planned for more time in St. Louis. I enjoyed watching the trains on the east side of the river from the steps below the Arch, and was lucky enough to snag a southbound BNSF coal train as it was entering the tunnel past the Arch. Even drove past the stadium to show the kids the baseball game that was playing that night.
