Western Railroad Discussion > Victorville and Cajon Pass Last SaturdayDate: 11/26/14 21:18 Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: erielackawanna Was out and about with some friends last Saturday and managed to get some long sought after shots. To start, after having got stuck my last time trying to get to Hill 582, made it this time and caught a lot of trains. Sharing two, a UP stacker and a BNSF (passing a BNSF heading to LA).
Third image is the Cemex train to the River Plant. Just a wedgie, but I've wanted this shot for years. Date: 11/26/14 21:20 Re: Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: erielackawanna Next three shots are a bit more artsy-fartsy. First is the Cemex train in the wash heading towards Victorville.
Fifth image is of a westbound at the black bridges Finally, a silhouette of a Quality Roseville at Verdemont. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 11/27/14 07:25 by erielackawanna. Date: 11/26/14 21:42 Re: Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: syscom3 Those are some neat pictures.

Nice composition on the Black Bridges shot, but that last one is IOTD material.

An interesting silhouette! mapboy Date: 11/27/14 08:53 Re: Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: Benched_it Fantastic shots and the last one should be hanging on the wall!

Wonderful Charles Date: 11/27/14 11:58 Re: Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: skyview How large of a lens, or how tight of a crop did you do? Thats a huge sun, even with the over exposure near the sun itself.
Great shot, very well done. Date: 11/27/14 13:00 Re: Victorville and Cajon Pass Last Saturday Author: 3rdswitch Great bunch.

Charles Oh - the silhouette was a 90mm on an APS size sensor. I exposed for the hill below, held the exposure and then shot at the sun. Then in PS I pulled the exposure back the other way, as if exposing for the sun. This caused the area around the sun to be the only part overexposed. I like the image of the truss bridges, with one larger than the other it tells the story of one bridge then two.
