Heritage Members

If you were registered prior to August 14, 2003 you are considered a Heritage Member. All Heritage Members were given a free trial period lasting 2-6 months to enjoy the new features of Trainorders.com. When this period expires, Heritage users will still be able to view the front page of each discussion forum and be able to post messages as well. Heritage Members will not have access to premium features of the discussion forum that include viewing images, designating personal forum preferences, and accessing other premium areas such as video and image libraries, news, archived railcam images, and other premium features that may be added in the future.

Why the changes? Trainorders.com has become a very expensive web site to operate. The site is too big for one guy to operate on a shoe string budget. Hired help is needed. At the launch of the new system we were serving out over 16,000 user sessions, and over 250,000 web pages and images each day. To pay for these escalating costs a two tiered membership system was created based on extensive feedback received from the members. Many members expressed that they did not want the archives or photographs, they just wanted to read postings and be able to post. Our solution was the heritage membership status for all previously registered members. We would like for all users to become premium members, but we recognize some cannot justify or afford the $2.50 a month for online entertainment.
