Western Railroad Discussion > Teaser photo of Royal Gorge F7 402, west.Date: 10/27/05 08:28 Teaser photo of Royal Gorge F7 402, west. Author: Grande-Fan Just wanted to post this teaser photo from yesterday's
trip from Pueblo to Canon City, Co. I got word that the Royal Gorge RR would be running from Canon City to Pueblo to pick up the Dome Cars that they bought from Holland Rail Tours in Alaska. So I went to Pueblo and waited for them, once in town they asked if I wanted to ride in a Dome or in the Cab. I picked the Cab, good idea. The crew noticed a small fire next to the R-O-W and stopped the train, then a few of them put it out. So I bailed out and took a few photos of the train splitting the signals at MP 125.4, this photo is from that set. Took over 300 photos yesterday so it will be a few before I get them all cleaned up, look for more later. Nathan Z. Date: 10/27/05 09:49 Re: Teaser photo of Royal Gorge F7 402, west. Yes the Domes will add a lot to the train, better yet at least 2 are Diner Cars. So great food as well as a great ride. Glad you liked the shot so well cozephyr. I hope to get most of the photos cleaned up tonight while the better half is at class. Thanks! Nathan Z. Date: 10/27/05 22:14 Re: Teaser photo of Royal Gorge F7 402, west. Author: wwdrkid Even that roadbed looks fine. Is this a main line to someplace? And the scenery......

Hello wwdrkid This photo was taken a few miles west of Pueblo, Co on the ex-Rio Grande Royal Gorge Route on the Tenneessee Pass Sub. The UP mothbathed the line from Parkdale-"just outside the Royal Gorge" to MP334.6 east of Gypsum, Co. Now trains from the UP, Rock & Rail and once in a great while the Canon City and Royal Gorge use the line from Pueblo west to the Gorge. Thanks Nathan Z. Author: highgreengraphics It's nice to see CC&RG and R&R work TOGETHER on something for a change, instead of being at each others' throats all the time, even if this is just symbolically. Hope more cooperation in the future. They are stronger together than apart. Great shot! I would have gone there and almost did, but I had to weigh the fuel cost against some RS-27's in HO coming out soon... Railfan dilemma! - - - - JLH
