Aside from the FRC trip I really like those two Amtrak California consists you caught, the one with the P32 and the BNSF Dash 9, and the one with the MP36, F40, and F59. As I read through your trip report page, I noticed you credited 'Ryan Wilkenson' for the photo of the WP sticker on 146. Is there really a Ryan WilkeNson and a Ryan WilkeRson in Nor Cal? I thought it was funny that I had a calculus class with a Ryan Wilson and Ryan Williams but two railfans with almost identical names? -Ryan Wilkerson http://www.shastarails.com Date: 04/07/06 00:00 Re: Feather River Express Story Author: gobbl3gook Great pics. A couple thoughts:
* Next time you have a footwear failure, you might try duct tape. Very reliable. Any self respecting UP yard office or railway museum should have a liberal supply of the stuff. * From the look of the weather, you're darn lucky the UP didn't cancel the run due to mudslide risks, or worrying about avalanches on Donner... Don't forget the other Ryan from the Yay Area as in Ryan M. Martin. C'mon Chris, I'm disappointed... ;) -Ryan M. Date: 04/07/06 13:18 Re: how many Railfanning Ryan's? Author: Mudrock I first want to say I'm sorry I blew Ryan's last name. But if he caught it or someone else did it should have been E mailed to me using the link by the name or off of my site. The purpose of my post was to alert you all of the story so you could enjoy it from the onboard angle while a few of you chased it. So in the future don't post mistakes just E mail the person who did it that way we don't waste band width with such trivial matters.

Your photojournalism is as much a significant achievement as the million miles that goes with it. Bob |
