That's conductor John David Lambert on the rear of the caboose in the third photo. He's been retired for about 5 years now and still lives in Tehachapi. He was one of the better conductors to work with.

The Brakemen at Avery is the best so far in this contest. Schmo, the clarity and the subject matter of your photos never ceases to amaze me. You are truly in the ranks of Stein and other greats.
