Went to the Eugene Yard last night and saw my first winged SD70M. However, the lighting was so perfect that I saw only the wings on the nose and not the number!!! I wanted to be able to remember the number of my first winged unit, but oh well. It was made up for by a train with a UP SD60M, an SP SD70M, and a UP SD90MAC that sounded REALLY cool. Just venting/sharing an experience.

(If anyone can help, the winged SD70M was facing south, coupled to a north-facing UP SD40-2 in the north end of the yard.)

That winged unit you saw in the yard was the 4158. It's the damaged unit from hitting a chip truck near Jefferson.

Yeah UP 4158 the SD70M is sitting with UP 3375 SD40-2 waiting to be sent to Jenks shops for a rebuild.

...thanks a lot! I'm proud to say that, even though it's a little scratched (sarc), My first winged unit was UP SD70M #4158. Now if I could just find the numbers of the other three units!
