Anybody have some current operational dope on the LAJ? Am particularly interested in shooting operations on weekday afternoons...

Good question: I often thought of spending a whole day driving around their web of spurs until I found them working somewhere, but never got around to it. I do recall that UP would run a transfer job out of East Yard to the LAJ every afternoon. I don't know if that's still the case: it was 7 or 8 years ago.

I don't know about LAJ operations as of today, but the UP delivery comes out of "J"-yard now. The cars are delivered to J-yard from West Colton on the MWCJY and then a yard job takes them over to LAJ. The times I've seen them deliver and pull the LAJ it's been in the afternoon.-BMT
