Some photos from my trip to Chicago
Author: alex14ramos

I went to Chicago last month for the CRPA conference and was able to do some shooting for a couple of extra days. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of trains running and the amount of tracks everywhere. Another trip is in store!

For those interested in checking them out,

Here is a link:

Also would like to add this will probably one of my last posts on TO for a bit, won't be renewing on the 17th when my membership expires. If anyone needs to contact me: alex14ramos@yahoo.com

Alex,

Some awesome images there! How is school going? Missed seeing both you and Ryan at the Niles Plaza opening. Had a good time with Harry on the small Free-mo they set up for the opening. Sees ya in the future.

J.

Alex: Outstanding, breath-taking. You really have an eye for capturing the essence.

My lack of photographic ability allows me to give this collection ten thumbs up! Black-and-white really does wonders for some of those shots.

Alex -

Very nice take on Chicago. There are so many places to shoot in Chicago and in the burbs. You could spend a lifetime shooting there and not repeat a shot.

Alex,

Art. Utterly, absolutely superb art.

As a former Chicagoan of many years, I can say that your work has changed my vision of so many places that I know well in the great city that was once my home. Thank you so very much for sharing these outstanding images. Your presence on TO, and the opportunity to see work like this, will be sorely missed indeed.

Dude, you show stuff like that then say you are leaving?

You listen to me, buster, and pay attention.

You pony up your $24 and stay right here and keep posting some more of this stuff.

Do I have to come over and knock some sense into you?

Thanks for sharing the photos! Even though I've seen your work here on TO, at CA State Railroad Museum's photo exhibit, and published in magazines, I'm still awestruck, especially the first work you posted (Amtrak under BNSF DPU, and at night!).

TO or not, I'll see you trackside.

I thought I also had a post here asking about location of Pic #23 (with the 6 tracks!)
but for some odd reason, my previous post seems to have vanished; maybe the
post just didn't register or somethin'? Not a big deal.

Thanks for the comments guys! Number four was taken in Indiana just over the border, and #23, I can't remember the exact name of the location but the exact spot was sorta near Obamas house.

The Inland Steel pedestrian bridge in Indiana Harbor. The place is now CP 502. Back in Prehistoric Times, the place was called B&O Tower. The place called Indiana Harbor was behind the camera and ahead in the distance, under where the transmission line towers become very tall, is Indiana Harbor Ship Canal bridge, formerly called Harbor Canal or HC Tower now CP Hick.
