I do have one question. I saw two 1800 or (maybe) 1700 series engines coming off a branch line to the Boron plant last Wednesday (west of Barstow, CA) and I'm wondering if these are SD40-2's or what, since the BNSF is renumbering engines like crazy. Any info would be greatly appreciated. TopCat Date: 02/25/11 18:51 Re: Snowy Santa Fe Friday Author: GRNDMND TopCat Wrote:

KC Date: 02/25/11 20:58 Re: Snowy Santa Fe Friday Author: GP30Frank I believe all the now #1800 series are ex-SD40-2's. I don't think there are any SD45-2's left, that haven't been converted to 3000 HP.
