UP East Yard (Commerce CA) Question
Author: erielackawanna

Okay... I'm probably completely and utterly nuts, but when driving on the 710 Freeway today, I saw what looked like a freshly painted EMD end cab switcher in East Yard.

It was in UP colors and lettering. I only saw it very briefly, so maybe my brain added in details that weren't there?

Or is there a freshly painted end cab EMD in East Yard?

Could have been an SW1500, there's a few of them left around the system. Lately the trailer dock job has been using a SD70ACe with a genset combo and the west end jobs have been using GP15s, GP38-2s, or an occasional SD60. Haven't seen a SW1500 being used in the yard for awhile though. It looks like I'll be headed to East L.A. tonight so I'll kepp an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.-BMT

Whatever I saw, it was on that spur that turns south, just to the east of the tent like structure that so many of the road units sit under (just to the west of the 710).

There was an SD70ACe on the same spur.

Watch you post tomorrow, "Um, Charles... that wss a tagged Genset..."

Well, I hope not... hope I really saw what I thought I saw.
