Western Railroad Discussion > No Snow in Wisconsin...Yet!

Under a cloudless sky and cool temps my son and I ventured south of La Crosse for today's H-NTWTUL. Running as the BNSF #8189 along with the BNSF #8104, it was chase in the making, and a slow chase it was as a Track Foreman still had the tracks further south. So we waited for the South Local to come out with a very faded B40-8W #555 leading about 30 cars or so. Hogger Morris Hobson throws us a nice wave as he passed by. Once the local passed, we headed to Victory WI for another photograph against the fast fading Fall colors.

nice stuff, there is beauty in the late fall color season also..

BTW, we had snow falling and sticking on the grassy areas north of Madison WI last night..

In that second shot, are all those hopper sides really without graffiti, or did you apply some Photoshop magic to remove the tags?

Haven't seen such a tagless freight train in years.
