Western Railroad Discussion > Unpatched SP 319 on the UP Austin SubDate: 01/25/12 11:24 Unpatched SP 319 on the UP Austin Sub Author: PALuvR It was a very cloudy morning here in Central Texas after receiving 4-5" of rain overnight. I just happened to catch the unpatched SP 319 on the NB CSACD this morning in Buda, TX. Also got the patched UP 6424. I have included 3 CNW covered in 3 different paint schemes. Plus NB Amtrak 22 and an SD70ACe-led manifest.
Will start with the SP 319, even though it was train #4 this morning, just to avoid undue suspense. Mike 1. Headend of CSACD 2-3. SP 319 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/25/12 11:42 by PALuvR. Date: 01/25/12 11:28 Re: Unpatched SP 319 on the UP Austin Sub Author: bradleymckay PALuvR Wrote:

The SP # 319 is a semi-regular visitor thru here on coal trains. Did the hoghead on # 22 wave at you? SP7615 Date: 01/25/12 11:31 Re: Unpatched SP 319 on the UP Austin Sub Author: PALuvR 4. First up was Amtrak 22

It was indeed nice however we probably need 15" more (NOT at 1 time) to alleviate the drought conditions, especially the very low levels in the lakes that supply water here in Central Texas.

SP 319 Date: 01/25/12 13:02 Re: Unpatched SP 319 on the UP Austin Sub Author: xtra1188w These were interesting Mike, although it's just too yellow there in Buda these days. I used to railfan in Buda back in the days when the engines were blue with white trim like they were supposed to be, with an occasional appearance by the Katy in red or in John Deere Green. UP belongs in Wyoming or some place up north!
