South Texas questions
Author: BNSFDS

I'm taking a trip to Houston this weekend and on the way back to the Metromess I'd like to try to catch a train or two running along the street at La Grange. Anybody have any idea on how trains per day run through here and what radio channel UP uses between Smithville and Sealy?

Thanks

Traffic through La Grange isn't very high, maybe 6-10 trains. Most of the traffic are rock trains heading towards the Houston area or coal trains going to the Fayette Power Project plant a few miles to the east of La Grange. In Sealy, the UP(ex-MKT) joins the BNSF to Rosenberg along which the UP has trackage rights. They rejoin UP rails at Rosenberg.
