No, I heard he was still at his house on S. First St. going through his 4 x 5 Greyhound negatives.

As of 09:30 I see the train doesn't show on the WPRM webcam now . .
so I guess they're outta Dodge and on their way . . somewhere.
I'm listening to the Chico scanner now on railroadradio.net. They
pick up Canyon communications pretty well. Departed 09:15 AM
according to posts in other forums.

Pretty spectacular photo you posted. Have never seen anything like it.

Is that sign on display somewhere? I've always wondered about that...

Passed East Pulga at 13:28 . .

Interesting . . On the Chico feed, railroadradio.net, I could actually
hear the MP 243.5 Detector, about a mile west of Arch Rock rest area.
Reported 54 axles . . 52ยบ. A bit grainy, but heard it loud and clear.

The original consist as listed would have it with 50 axles. Must be an
additional car.

If you've never been up to Dunsmuir, it's a lot of fun. Lot of activities.
The Cantara Loop is easily accessible just up the road, and it's beautiful
down in there this time of year. Many side roads, and campgrounds,
Sims in particular, with railfan photo-ops.

Because of these storms we've had the Temperatures should be very reasonable, in the 70's is the forecast. It is said to get pretty cold at night.
The temp does vary with altitude, which varies from Redding at around 500 ft to Grass Lake at almost 5000 ft.
