Two Trips in Two Days, And Out Of Storage Locomotive
Author: BNSF-6432

Yesterday I made a trip with another member up to Carona, KS on SKOL where there is a decent museum. The route we took leaving Tulsa, OK followed the BNSF Cherokee Sub up to Afton for the most part, then came back following the UP Coffeyville Sub.
Today, I had to take a trip out to Joplin Missouri not intended for railfanning but squeezed in time to wait about 30 minutes to see what showed up, and watched a grain train go by while my camera didn't wanna work, but the trip back this evening followed BNSF back from Afton to Tulsa on the same route as Saturday morning.

1) Eastbound Q passes local 466's power in the siding at

2) Q train keeps on rolling through Vinita, OK where BNSF Cherokee Sub crosses UP Cherokee Sub

3) Westbound freight rolls up to the west end of Afton where he will see a rock train (at the top of the hill now) that followed the Q out of Tulsa

10) If you go to the midwest or Kansas, its not a trip if you don't shoot and or see a dirty same ol' UP coal train, unless you are trying not to. Here leaving Parsons, KS

11) Or you can make that two dirty coal trains! This one behind the first by about ten miles pulls up for a crew change

12) Leftover halloween pumpkin heads light the town of Cherryvale at the SKOL depot

13) Nighttime at Coffeyville yard, northbound freight leaves while a patched SP DPU waits for his crew change

14) Back at downtown Afton, a eastbound coal empty goes through and will crossover to take the Afton sub

15) On his block, an eastbound freight crosses over to avoid a stack train that will see green all the way to Tulsa besides UP interlockers without meets at least to Tiger siding, first siding east of Tulsa
