Riverside UP/BNSF branch
Author: TomPlatten

I drove by and observed the crews working the final connection so the UP or BNSF can switch the cars at the end of the "old" Riverside Branch. Looked like they were cleaning up the operation and repairing the crossing at Rustin Street. Another day or two and it will look like the new connection was always there!

That crossing at Rustin street is in the best shape it's been in years!
Lately it's been a 5 mph frame rattler!

Thank you, Dave for the update. Naturally we expect a photo album of pictures showing all of the details of this historical event. Also someone should be there to chronicle the first BNSF train, or whomever, to use the new connection! Did they remove the diamond before or after the San Jac went through?
