Trackside Hotel
Author: GrandeGold

How many of you have seen the Great Northern big sky blue painted F45 along the BNSF in Essex, Montana? Here's a shot from 1995 soon after it arrived to work on the Utah Railway hauling coal.

It began its service life working on the Santa Fe back in June 1968. This classic EMD has lead an unusual service life, to say the least.

Nice one, James.

At first I thought you were referring to the Utah Rwy office building behind the F45, which would probably make a pretty nice railfan hotel as well.

That's the one used for a deluxe Suite at the Izaac Walton Inn in Essex. Quite a sight. Someone did a photo shoot of the place a while ago.
