Nah, everybody knows that the true grail would have a Rio Grande logo on it... Choose wisely. :)

Given that this guy doesn't seem to have any other incredibly outrageously overpriced things, I wonder if he/she didn't miss a decimal and really meant $30.

I asked him if he had misplaced the decimal point and he responded "Funny"

I seen them for sale years ago and was told that they were gave to SP employees(seller must been former employee, had boxes of office supplies, etc from HQ) at Market street in SF,around the late 80's. I did'nt buy it (should have) but I did buy the matching stationary pad's and the 3' by 5' ft new, SP route map that were also supplied to the corporate office. May be "rare, scarce" now but not "Vintage or Antique" and worth about 30.00$ at most.

LOL! With the seller's attitude like that, I'm glad I didn't follow the eBay link, and I don't plan to. He's probably wondering why such a high hit count but no bidders?

The old sales guys (if their are mnay left)should be sitting on fortunes. With all the SP and SSW mugs, pens, scratch pads, matches, etc. I think I even have a few of the Rio Grande gold cups around somewhere. We gave them out until the shippers didn't need or want them anymore.

Wow! This makes my rare Winona Bridge RR cup worth at least twice that - heck, the Winona Bridge was so rare, it never even ran a train!

Well, time just ran out with zero takers. Shoot, I was ready to "snipe" it for $6K too. Seller goofed by including pic of coffee-stained interior......bleh.

Reminds me of the cartoon of the down-and-out fellow with the sidewalk apple stand. Sign says "Apples $50,000 Each". Caption reads "Only have to sell one!".
