"Solid Clod" FGE Reefer
Author: AthearnModelTrains

We’re in search of walk-around prototype images for the unique “Solid Clod” 57’ FGE Mechanical Reefer. The only photo we’ve been able to find was taken from a distance in a snowstorm. As we’ve researched other “Solid Cold” reefers, we’ve noticed the data can be different from car to car and we want to be sure our future model is as accurate as possible. Please e-mail swilson@horizonhobby.com if you have access to pictures of this special freight car. We appreciate your help.

WTH? Is Dave Bolt working for Athearn now? ;-)

OMG, a "Bolt" reference on TO. Now I'll have to show him.

If you have to ask, the (fairly inside) joke is lost...

Cut and paste the link and there are lots of pictures out there.

Has anyone seen this? http://www.flickr.com/photos/18170525@N05/3236174141

It is an RBOX painted as FGE. I can't tell if it is photoshopped, if so, it is pretty well done. Looking at the other photos it seems this is some who does or admires graffiti, not a railfan...

That said, I have a hard time believing someone did this.

I scroll through that list (I'm pretty sure Athearn has already trolled Google btw) and notice only one shot of the "Solid Clod" reefer, and that is of the old blue box kit or whatever...
