Western Railroad Discussion > UP, carrying on "The Friendly..."

Monday morning I was greeted by one of my longtime customers who works for the UP out of Van Nuys, CA. While in my shop, he kept getting phone calls from the Saugus Local crew who had just clipped the back leg of a deer on the other side of San Fernando Tunnel. After several back and forths, they finally got ahold of an animal control officer. The hard part was describing the location, since there were no main roads nearby. In the end, they got someone out there to render aid and take it from there.
I thought it was extremely kind of everyone to take the time to ensure help was rendered, especially my friend on his day off. Alas, no need to scroll "Bambi killer" on the side of the Geep's cab.

Yes, I agree. Nice to see people actually care for a change...
