BNSF Symbol question
Author: sums007

I monitor the Northtown radio, and lately I've been hearing a Stanley train destined for a symbol of what sounds like MIX. What's MIX?
TIA.

MIJ maybe? Oil terminal near St. Louis.

MIX is another way of saying Mitchell, IL. MIJ, and MII have all been showing up recently. It is where it goes in Louisiana (via UP) that determines the X, I, or J.

Thanks, Kodachrome. So apparently, Mitchell IL is not a destination per se, but rather an interchange point with the UP.
