A Few Trains Around St. Louis (NKP 8100)
Author: JMorhaus

On Saturday November 24, I took a drive over towards Collinsville Illinois from Missouri to check out the Model Railroad Show but ended up kicking my self out before I made to big of a purchase. After that I drove over towards the Madison/Granite City area to see what was going on and ended finding the Nickel Plate heritage unit sitting on the house track near NS's A.O. Smith yard and also ended up seeing a few others so here are the shots. Thanks for taking a look.

1: NS 8100 & NS 1057 near NS's A.O. Smith yard in Granite City Illinois.

2: Another view of NS 8100 in Granite City Illinois.

3: UP 4202 leads a stack train north by NS 8100 in Granite City Illinois.

Good stuff, Jeff! I really like the tale in #2. In my RR career there was an inescapable fact about railroaders & bars. They always seemed to be joined at the hip.
And not always gracefully, either!
