The train runs from Kennecott Copper's smelter at Garfield to a fertilizer manufacturer near Pocatello, Idaho. Really a neat train that takes the scenic Ogden Sub through the Bear River Gorge. How long does this train usually get?

According to the 2012 ERG, it could be 1830, 1831, or 1832 depending on concentration among other things. Plain old sulfuric or sulphuric acid is 1830. Bruce Date: 04/06/13 20:03 Re: Got Acid? Author: lizzard_45 It's the train that you hope doesn't derail when your Front Runner train is next to it going into Clinton....

Author: F40PHR231 Utah Railway #2008 in non-GWI paint was also sandwiched between a couple UP diesels on one of the trains going north not long after the train in your shot went by. Headed out for a rebuild, perhaps?

Fuming sulphuric acid. In this concentration, it doesn't attack steel, so the cars would be unlined. 1827 is "spent sulphuric acid", unless there have been changes to the numbers. H2SO4 is known as "the king of the chemicals" because it's used in so many manufacturing processes, including cloth for clothing. >Is there a speed restriction on this train? It seems to run slower than the others between SLC and Ogden. Probably a 30 mph one, which is typical for heavily populated areas. Date: 04/07/13 13:44 Re: Got Acid?
