Amtrak special by Palmer Lake . .
Author: 3rdswitch

. . missed a call earlier from a fellow TO'er about an Amtrak special coming south on the joint UP-BNSF Denver to Pueblo Joint Line main, when I finally returned the call and found out about it I headed down but too late and had to settle for grab shots from the Palmer Lake "secret spot". Too bad as it came south on normal northbound main two in good sun. Oh well, at least I saw it. Thanks NZ.

Nice photos, I saw it come up track two at Greenland from the 25.

We used to call the "secret spot" Grenard's curve, because Ross Grenard used to shoot there back in the day.

Pueblo - cars to be used for testing with the new Electrics for the NEC. Cars are probably not usable for passenger service due to needed repairs to the interiors, toilets, etc.

Good shots 3rd. ! Late afternoon light filtered through an enormous cloud of wildfire smoke made for some rather drab shots here in Pueblo.
