Western Railroad Discussion > Tucson Bound?Date: 08/21/13 14:47 Tucson Bound? Author: railwaybaron I heading to Tucson for My Wife's vacation. Are there any shortlines in the area? Isn't there an Amtrak station made from a CZ dome car somewhere in the area? I will check in at the 22ND Street Ace Train (and Hardware) Store. Any other rail ideas?

Tucson's a nice town, great place for eating and music. Gets warm in the summer, though... Date: 08/21/13 15:00 Re: Tucson Bound? Author: DRGW Your only about a hour from Copper Country, head North to the Copper Basin at Hayden, or over to Globe and check out the Arizona Eastern.

I was a member of the club back in the early 70s when club was located in the El Paso and Southwestern Railroad station.

If you like brewpubs, go to the Old Barrio Brewing Company. They have a UP track in the front and you can watch an occasional manifest from the patio while drinking a cold one. Date: 08/22/13 13:54 Re: Tucson Bound? Author: livesteamer Just to be accurate--the Titan II site located in Green Valley is the real deal and not a converted location. The muesum is topside but the equipment below ground is the real deal. It was one of the 18 sites around Tucson and I pulled a few alerts at that location.
