Western Railroad Discussion > FloodDate: 09/13/13 14:39 Flood Author: WAF Sounds like the Great Western Rwy was washed out near Johnstown. Rail cars have flipped over in the running water. Probably washed out at Milliken, too
Date: 09/13/13 15:06 Re: Flood Author: highgreengraphics According to news aerial views, the BNSF wood trestle south of Berthoud is very heavily damaged and washed out on one side. I believe the only way to get into Fort Collins by rail is from Cheyenne on BNSF. And not much reason to do that, as all connections are out of service. Not sure how they will serve all the rail traffic in and out of Johnstown and Windsor, have not heard or seen the condition of GWR's bridges, but conditions around them do not look good. === === = === JLH

I believe there is heavy damage to the BNSF main in Boulder in at least two spots and in Loveland as well. Heavy Damage to BNSF's Lyons branch and BNSF's East Yard in Longmont is partially submerged. Posted from Android Date: 09/13/13 15:48 Re: Flood Author: 2ebright What the heck is GG?
