Amtrak 1st Class Display!
Author: santafe199

We had a nice little gathering of TO members yesterday in Topeka centered around the Amtrak history display train. Besides myself were Messrs. TTownTrains, Milw E70, UPTRAIN & Nikon 1. We all took the tour through the converted baggage cars. It was a top notch presentation of Amtrak history, very well done. To steal a trademark from those Hollywood film critic dudes: I give it an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!

Afterword Nikon 1 took his young son & elderly father back home and UPTRAIN had to mosey back to Kansas City with his girl. But the rest of us adjourned to the residence of one “wag216”. Introductions were made all around and we all sat in Art’s basement (amongst many decades of railfan memorabilia) having a great time telling stories & anecdotes. Some of the stories were even TRUE! (Dang… somebody shoulda brought along a tape recorder!)

1. & 2 Amtrak 406, trailed by the Veteran’s unit 42 & the touring display train held the mainline until 4 PM.

3. Big Brother (BNSF Police) is watching you!
