What days of the week does the Iowa Northern go through on the ice in Mason City, Iowa and about what time of day?

North train should run everyday north out of Greene to Manly, I think it's a day run.

Careful, Jason, as the north train doesn't normally go to Mason City, which is
some 10 miles east of their route.

To answer the question, the last I heard, the IANR went west from Nora Springs
on the now CP twice a week.  However, that business, from what I've heard, has
not developed like the Sabin's thought it would, and they may only go as needed.
Good luck catching them and let us know if you did.

The elevator at Garner has been getting cars for loading. I know at one time there were a lot of empty coal hoppers stored south of there

Nick/List;

TYPO: Mason City is WEST of Nora Jct, not EAST. Nick is right, as the RI/IANR operates to Manly, IA more often than via other routes in the area. TIM

Actually, the Forest City - Belmond line has exceeded our expectations from the beginning.  After a rough start, CP has worked well with us through Mason City and over the joint track between Nora Springs and Garner.  We try to bunch up the loadings from Garner and Forest City to keep out of CP's way.  They give us a good window in the evenings and with the track upgrades, we can make pretty quick turns.  The line between Garner and Belmond is used for stored cars of many types.  All in all, the acquisition of the line has been very positive for us and we are working to develop additional business on the line.

We can generally take care of all the business with about 12 crew starts per month.
