Western Railroad Discussion > When Worlds CollideDate: 01/05/17 08:45 When Worlds Collide Author: funnelfan I'm not really an avid bird watcher, but when the occasion arises for a photo of opportunity, I will take it. Such as it was yesterday when I stopped short of the Lance Hill Road crossing of the BNSF south of Cheney, WA to wait on a westbound coal train. It was then that I noticed a Red Tail Hawk perched atop the far gate. At first the hawk was ignoring me looking away, but when I started making sounds like an injured animal that quickly changed. After a short while the hawk realized I was playing games with him and he flew away with a rather annoyed look.

Those are BEAUTIFUL photos of the train! The snow in the sun is soooo pretty! I LOVE your photo of the hawk soaring. VERY well done! (I LOVE birds!) [That was a pretty good movie, wasn't it? "Klatu murada nikto."] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/05/17 10:51 by Margaret_SP_fan. Date: 01/05/17 13:46 Re: When Worlds Collide Author: Bob3985 Great photos all Ted. And especially with the Hawk on the crossing arm.

That's a lucky shot and beautiful bird. Posted from Android Date: 01/05/17 18:10 Re: When Worlds Collide Author: billmeeker Nice shots. That hawk would have been more annoyed had the gates gone down...
Date: 01/06/17 20:21 Re: When Worlds Collide Author: ChrisCampi Those birds are smart! They will wait for an approaching train to scare up a critter then move in for dinner.
