Lawrence Kansas Question
Author: WichitaJct

Over the engineer's right shoulder, maybe just beyond the white truck, there was once an enormous metal bin used to store grain. I would guess it was at least two stories tall. Does anyone know when it was removed? Thanks.

I looked on Google Earth, and didn't see anything like that at least back to 1991, Unless I just wasn't seeing it. I've lived in the area since 1988, and don't remember it.

A bin 'two stories' tall does not qualify as a grain storage facility. That is at best a car port in Kansas.

The spot where the truck is sitting is about in line with where the section headquarters used to be. That was only a sngle story, metal building if I remeber correctly from when I was on the section crew there in 1972
