I walked down the street to take a photo of the normally nocturnal Harbor Turn.  It stopped at Mahan about 2am and may have actually saved someone's life.  There are lots of houses around and a homeowner, awakened by the idling train, looked out the window to check it out and noticed a very inebriated millenial had been stumbling home and tried to sleep under a tree near his house.  The homeowner went out and brought the nearly hypothermic person inside and gave him hot chocolate.  The ambulance got stuck on the way out so the police came and took him away.

We are not supposed to drive without chains so I guess are staying home.  My kids are that weird type that like school and were like great, another snow day.  They didn't even go out and play in it.  I guess if you can't carve some turns in it, it's not even worth it.

The train left a little while ago and is headed toward United Juction NW of Portland, OR.

Great shot. That heavy wet snow that the PNW gets is beautiful, though I'm glad I don't have to go out in it.

I hope your kids understand that once they're adults, snow days are almost unheard of.  They should be enjoying them while they can ;-)

Eventually they went out and we made an igloo and threw some snowballs.
I'm really lucky my work has paid snow days.  Don't tell anyone but we're going skiing.
