Oh they look really pretty. They display vivid colors and make entire hillsides look like colorful botanical gardens! :)

Also great in the Antelope Valley and California City!
Wilflowers bloom last in Tehachapi and over Oak Creek Pass.

These were taken 3/3/2017 in the low foothills above Illmon. When I hiked up higher there were none, there was a smattering up above tunnel 1 also. Maybe the recent warm weather has kicked them into gear.

I was up there this past saturday and saw green grass but no flower to speak of but did have the smog/fog moving in

Until Amtrak came long, April would see two or three  special trains, up to 20 cars  to view the flowers.
