UP 7400 on the Rio Grande

An illusive Union Pacific coal empty bound for West Elk, CO, made for quite a nice sight in evening light down the Dotsero Cutoff behind recently repainted UP 7400. The train will head for Richmond, CA once loaded.

Red Canyon west of Burns, CO.

Beautiful scenery and a nice looking unit.  Since the pink ribbon was painted on and the unit cleaned up, it has been in coal service most of its trips---saw it here in Oklahoma on 4 turns.

I like Union Pacific ES44AC 7400. Has special meaning for me as I lost "My True Railroader" a.k.a. my Wife Pam just over one year ago to cancer. She was a 32 years Amtrak employee. Lets pray we find the cure soon for all cancers. Thanks for sharing.

West Elk is on the North Fork south of GJ, train is westbound.
