Having a long career, these two SD39(-2)'s are on their way to a new future with Motive Power Resources. Last Friday they were delivered to the CN by the DAIR in Sioux City (seen here in the CN yard), IA and made there way east on Saturdays outbound train to Chicago.

Note - Yes I know there never was a SD39-2 built, but they were rebuilt with Dash 2 electrics and the DAIR classified them as SD39-2's. So they are the unicorns in a world filled with C45ACCTE's.

The movie "Switchback" that these two units appeared in is pretty good, at least from a railfan standpoint.  And those familar with the Rio Grande will recognize many of the locations shown in the film.  BSB

Very nice to see.   It's amazing the SP light arangement has survived all these years.
