Nice photo.  I hadn't seen any  N  designations in the GP class yet. That's good as it means these are being upgraded and will be around a while longer.

Interesting.   Didn't know or think the GP40's were ready or approved for upgrading.   The high roadnumber suggests a lesser role in service, or even retirement.   We'll see...

This unit has been numbered 9989 for at least 10+ years so i think its safe to say its not going anywhere soon if they just rebuilt it (including nose job)...

The UP now also has GP15N's as well. UPY 588 is seen working the Sparks NV yard on 3/20/2017.
