Nice clear sunshiny weather today made for a great setting to shoot UPs 18-car passenger equipment move today running from Shreveport LA to McAlester OK.
These shots are taken in Kiowa OK 17 miles south of McAlester.
The Police Chief in town had gotten a few calls about my suspiciousness so he came to the scene and checked me out and took a few pictures himself with his cell phone and then I answered his questions about the hump-backed power car and dome and Fox River Inspection car.
My apologies to the UP gentleman in the vestiblue that waved----I was takeing photos of each individual car and neglected to wave back--my bad

Nice catch Brian! Nice looking train! I'm glad you passed the muster of the law, lol. I guess we've all been there at one time or another trackside.

Back in the 1980s when 4449 went to New Orleans the Calfiornia Highway Patrol assigned an officer who was a railfan to ride the train and coordinate with officers on the ground to avoid any collissions. It seemed to work out fine.
