Western Railroad Discussion > Storm Light in the North StateDate: 04/16/17 00:09 Storm Light in the North State Author: Amtrakdavis22 Last Thursday was an epic day in Northern California. With thunderstorms predicted across much of the North State, I knew it was going to be a good day. A large thunderstorm had developed just north of Chico (Vina Area). The clouds were traveling east and began to backup across the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This brought very heavy rainfall to the area. In this shot, a Union Pacific manifest catches some sunlight as it races south along the UP Valley Subdivision, just out of reach of the tumulchuous thunderstorms.
