"New" MBKX and STLX hoppers?
Author: SP_cadillacs

Saw a BNSF train around 2200 Southbound on the Marshall Sub with at least 100 smooth side grain covered hoppers with reporting marks in the MBKX 130xxx and STLX 2xxx series and definitely former BNSF. All hoppers appear as they were with BNSF with the exception of the "swoosh" logo blanked out and the obvious reporting mark change. Power was 1x1 SD70ACe leading and a brand new repainted SD70MAC as DPU. Anybody know the train symbol, origin and destination?

The MBKX covered hoppers belong to Mitsui Rail Capital and were built for them by Greenbrier of Mexico in April of 2008. Series 130050-130099. They are NOT former BNSF cars, but have the same mineral red color. Any covered hoppers labeled STLX belong to Tate & Lyle Ingredients and I couldn't find any photos of them yet on-line anywhere. Do you have photos of either of these cars?

I don't have a photo of them as it was already dark, but I could see the former BNSF logos on the STLX cars blanked out for sure. Thanks for the information.
