Ah well, the younger generation with no railroad experience! Date: 05/19/17 19:07 Re: Amtrak 2 has a UP Engine on the Point Author: TexBob Can't pin this one on Amtrak.
UP 5296 was added to the point and departed San Antonio only 1:07 late, however the UP engine crapped out west of Eagle Lake to the extent that it had to be set out! Into Houston about 4:30 PM with only AMTK 131 for power, about 5 hours late. Robert Pierce Sugar Land, TX SWRails.com Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/19/17 19:09 by TexBob. Then I found in some antedeluvian RR publication that it's short for "a piece of RR equipment being in bad order", and after repairs it was back to being "in good order". However you never hear the phrase "good order" on the RR. So SOGR is probably a case of some keyboard artist getting carried away and all soggy.

And doesn't BNSF also use "LUBO" -- meaning "Laid Up Bad Order" -- for bad-ordered equipment? |
