UP's Sunset Route Coverage - 04/09/2017 (Pics/Videos)

Today's post we have 3 trains from UP's Gila Sub "Sunset Route" from April 09, 2017.  I want to apologize upfront I forgot the tripod for the Video Camera. First we have Union Pacific (UP 8930) leading a eastbound Intermodal Train which was the ILXEW-08 (Intermodal-LATX-Englewood/Houston, TX) east of Maricopa, AZ at Milepost 906 (Control Point BON (SP 906)).  The consist was UP 8930 (EMD SD70AH), UP 4679 (EMD SD70M) with DPU: UP 8256 (GE C45AH).

Next we have Union Pacific (UP 8065) leading a eastbound Priority Manifest Train which was the QWCEW-08 (Priority Manifest-W. Colton-Englewood/Houston, TX) at the same location.  The consist was UP 8065 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 5850 (GE AC44CWCTE), UP 7808 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 7741 (GE AC45CCTE) with DPU: UP 8839 (EMD SD70AH).

Last one for tonight we have Union Pacific (UP 7398) leading a westbound Premium Intermodal Train which was the ZMNLA-07 (Premium Intermodal-Marion, AR-Los Angeles) at Control Point Casa Grande (SP 918).  The consist was UP 7398 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 8150 (GE C45AH).

Nice Series today! Enjoyed the first train with EMD on the point with a good sounding horn and glad to see you got a friendly wave from the third train.

Thanks Larry!  Yeah that Horn was different for sure..   I like seeing the EMD SD70AH leading at the crossings.  Can't wait to see one of those EMD Tier4s.

Wow, really nice ones today. The Englewood train had nice blocks of cars in it the way it was built--looks nice to see those solid block of boxcars in a manifest nowdays.
Hadn't seen this type of aerowedge before as in the 3rd train, just the frame-type. Nice to get responses from the crew like that. They were not pulling as fast as we normally see so I'm guessing they might have been on a yellow block.
All very nice and interesting.

Thanks! I believe that is the new design of the Aerowedge that started on some additional trains (besides the CIG4).  The train crew was given the "Okay to Proceed" pass the Red Signal at the Control Point in the video.  Signal would not drop due to the MOW crew on Track 1.
