After having had a major back surgery 4 months ago, this morning was my first time trackside with my camera. Can't even complain about the clouds - just feel blessed to be out and about.
Been seeing a lot of BNSF reroutes through here regularly due to MOW work on the Glidden Sub which is their normal route back to Caldwell where they rejoin home rails. I had a very interesting morning as a "welcome back".

1. NB BNSF reroute passing a UP train in the hole at Bergstrom MP 186 on the UP Austin Sub

That UP train in the siding turned out to be a West Coast reroute off the Glidden Sub also.

I closed out the morning with quite a treat - a manifest with an FXE leader and a pair of CSXT's trailing

6. After stopping on the main to allow that stack train to get a little distance between them, this NB manifest out of Mexico starts to move

Getting out and moving is great PT. Excellent motivation to get moving and taking pictures of your favorite subject.

Nice variety. Glad to hear you are up and around! Was wondering where you went. My sister in Arizona used to live real close to where you take these pix. I was only there once, about 15-17 years ago. Wow, time flies!

Glad you're back in Action Mike after your back surgery. You had a great first day back with lots of variety. Hope that continues, it's mostly Orange in my backyard. Would love to see some that variety, lol. Hope your back treats you well in the future.

Haven't been to Zilker Park in a while but last time I was there, The Zephyr was still plugging along.
