Nice Spring Day After The Rain On The BNSF--UP EMDX 1502
Author: Ritzville

It was a beautiful day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 76/44. Heat is on the way, UGH. Traffic was fairly steady with one lull in the early afternoon. Here are some of the trains that rolled by today. Still mostly Orange. I need some of Mikes variety in Texas, lol.

1. WB 1021am coal train with BNSF 5816-8567 and CREX 1303 on the point with DPU.
2. Another shot of CREX 1303 on same train.
3. EB 1021am grain train with BNSF 5487-7745 on the pull with DPU.

Catching that EMDX unit was indeed pretty cool. Really liked seeing those clouds start popping up midday. #12 was nicely framed with those beautiful clouds in the background. Thanks.

Nice catches and trains Larry. Great catch of the EMDX / UP unit--too bad there is no where to put UNION PACIFIC on it.
Is the tarped hopper a bad order set-out??--it's been there a few days.

Brian, that hopper has been there for weeks. It was part of the MoW outfit of weeks ago. They forgot one car, lol. Thanks Mike for your comments, great to see you back in action.

That traped car is probably a wreck car with ballast inside tokeep the weather off of it. They have those sitting in Salina, KS for that purpose. upkpfan

Correct. Emergency ballast car. There's nothing worse than trying to dump frozen ballast! It just doesn't happen!

While EMDX 1502 is traveling with that ID, it's UP 3000 underneath the temporary white patch. It is moving from Progress Rail in Tacoma to Progress in Muncie, IN.
