When Men were men, and trains made noise.
Author: TexBob

I got out last Thursday evening to video two westbounds as they passed through Richmond,TX near MP 33 of UP's Glidden sub, about 40 miles southwest of Houston.

There's lots of shadows through this area, but my primary goal was audio. I wanted to go back back to the good old days before quiet zones; when men were men, and trains made noise.

Yes. Once the SAIT got going the IHOLA & ZATLC have been re-symboled IHOSA & ZATSA
account all of the block-swapping.

Interesting! The swaps are done at SA [SP East yard?]. rather than the new yard at Santa Teresa [El Paso].

Swaps are done at SAIT (San Antonio Intermodal Terminal) in SW SA. SA is where Sunset Route Crosses the Chicago-Laredo mainline
so there's lots of traffic changing direction at SA, i.e. from Laredo to LA, Houston to Laredo, etc.

Prolly more swaps at Santa Teresa to accommodate stuff coming off GSR.
