Rare Move on the Moffat Tunnel 6ine
Author: cozephyr

UP moved a unit military train west on the Moffat Tunnel line June 16, 2017. Rare to see this traffic crossing the Colorado Rockies.

Image shows UP 4900 West entering tunnel one in Coal Creek Canyon about 4:00 PM west of Arvada, Colorado.

Nice find and definitely a rare move indeed. The well cars carrying military container loads are pretty rare too. I have not seen that done before.

what time was this, saw the back of the train (i think) in north yard as late as 7- 630 pm, or were there more than one?

Glad to see UP corridor managers gave the old grande some buisness!
