Western Railroad Discussion > Chicago CongestionDate: 06/24/17 12:05 Chicago Congestion Author: bmarti7 I was listening to the internet scanner this morning when the UP dispatcher for the Geneva Sub was parking eastbounds west of Rochelle with the comment "if you don't have a Z in your symbol, you're not going east of Rochelle today."
BNSF dispatchers, with exception of Chili sub, seemed to be doing the same (parking eastbounds). Is this typical for Chicago on a Saturday? Thanks. BB Date: 06/24/17 13:52 Re: Chicago Congestion Author: inCHI I don't think it would be typical. On M-F freights might be slow eastbound on UP coming in during the morning commuter rush but even during it I've seen trains move. On a Saturday that isn't a factor, so that kind of delay doesn't seem typical. MOW maybe?

mapboy Date: 06/24/17 16:54 Re: Chicago Congestion Author: millerdc Looking at Trains magazine Rochelle webcam today saw no construction activity. UP(CNW) trains were going westbound and BNSF(CBQ) were going north at normal speeds.

On other EHH properties the implementation of Precision Scheduling often lead to trains backed up on other peoples railroads. Date: 06/26/17 08:40 Re: Chicago Congestion Author: matts15487 Due to the situation at LPC?
