OT-Fighting Colorado Wildfires

Neptune Aviation Services N474NA a BAE-146-200 air tanker took off from Rocky Mountain Metro Airport to fight the Peak 2 fire near Breckenridge, CO, July 7, 2017. Nine forest fires were burning in Colorado as of July 9, 2017; Gutzler Fire, Lightning strikes set off that Peekaboo fire, 44 miles northwest of Maybell, and the 205-acre Wilson fire nine miles north of Meeker. 12,675-acre Peekaboo fire west of Craig-40% contained early July 10-lightning caused!

Haze along the Colorado Front Range from wildfires.

A few weeks ago we had one of these former passenger airliners working behind our house on yet another fire. Last year the crews stopped it about 2000 feet to the left, and then this year the rest of it burned.

is that Aeroflite, saw one of their 2 engined prop driven "flying boats" at the Bellingham, Wa. airport last thursday

Yep, its going to be long fire season.

In San Gabrial valley of Southern California, Division 8 of the Los Angeles County Fire Department has been seeing at least one vegitation fire every week for the last 2 months. Per Battalian 12, this is the most he has seen in at least 10 years.

yea. post pix of those P2V's. That's how they named it "Neptune Aviation" (They are based in Montana) The had a fleet of all P2V's. The 146's have just shown up in the last few years.
