BNSF Kootenai River Sub-Kootenai Falls

West bound at Kootenai Falls Montana around 11am on 6/17/17. Video taken by TO member Curt and myself during a 10 railfan trip along BNSF Kootenai River Sub and Marias Pass.

Very nice video. It's too bad this great scenic stretch of river is passed by at night with the Empire Builder. Do you see any rafters or kayaks pass by or are the falls too technical for them? During SP 4449's eastbound trip in July 2009 there were a lot of them with some "mooning" on the river but I don't know if they were on this section.

It is about a dozen miles downstream (west) of Libby.

Thank you! 60 years ago my Explorer post canoed from Skoocumchuck B.C. to Libby. This was a great trip.before Libby Dam blocked the river.

Thank you! 50 years ago my Explorer post canoed from Skoocumchuck B.C. to Libby. This was a great trip.before Libby Dam blocked the river.
