Western Railroad Discussion > UP Biz Altoona Sub

1st image has UP's engineering special, July 18th, at the Spring switch at west end of Valley siding, abt 3 miles railroad west of Wyeville, WI on UP's Altoona Sub. The overhead conveyor belt in background is part of one of the many Frac sand load outs that have sprung up like mushrooms in Western Wisconsin.
2nd Image is the Idaho with the folks looking things over. You can see where this track was once double track when part of the "Omaha" roads mainline.
